Meet Dontavious Blount
Honors Accounting Scholar | Texas Southern University
Class of 2028
Dontavious Blount is an ambitious and service-driven scholar at Texas Southern University, where he is pursuing a degree in Accounting as a full-ride scholarship recipient and member of the Thomas F. Freeman Honors College. A proud member of the My HBCU Matters Scholar Academy, Dontavious is committed to using his education to close the wealth and knowledge gap in underserved communities.
His leadership journey began early—as Valedictorian of his high school and President of the National Science Society, Dontavious also served in student government, was named Mr. Junior, and led a community toiletries drive that served over 100 homeless individuals in Atlanta.
At TSU, Dontavious continues to lead with purpose. He currently serves as the Legislative President of the National Association of Black Accountants, connecting students with top firms like KPMG and Deloitte. He is also active in SGA Internal Affairs, Collegiate 100, TSU Choir, and TsuClean, a community service club. His voice, both in advocacy and in music, resonates throughout campus.
Dontavious plans to earn his MBA and become a Certified Public Accountant (CPA)—not just to build a career, but to empower others through financial education and equitable economic access.
When you support scholars like Dontavious, you’re not just investing in one student’s dream—you’re fueling the next generation of Black excellence, leadership, and change-making.
Support Dontavious’s journey. Help us keep our scholars enrolled, focused, and thriving.
