As an Activist, Educator, and Entrepreneur Brandon’s motto is “Be Crazy Enough to Believe You Can”. With extensive experience in education, non-profit management, and business development, he founded the My HBCU Matters clothing brand and the Our HBCUs Matter Foundation, Inc. in 2015 with the sole purpose of uplifting students from underserved communities and HBCUs.
The Our HBCUs Matter Foundation, was founded to encourage and guide students along their journey to degree completion and to achieve economic mobility via career opportunities. Brandon has led the organizations to garner recognition and partnerships with Google, Invesco, State Street, Fearless Fund, Steve Madden, and Coca-Cola, Wells Fargo, the White House HBCU Initiative to name a few.
A White House HBCU Initiative Scholar and current Doctoral Candidate at Tennessee State University, with a concentration on High Education and Executive Leadership. His dissertation focus is on “Unlocking Success: Exploring retention strategies that yield high graduation rates at the high-performing HBCUs across the United States.” He earned his Master of Business Administration from Clark Atlanta University and his Bachelor of Arts from Columbia College Chicago.
With previous experience as the University Relations Manager at the National Black MBA Association, Educator & Program Manager at Atlanta Public Schools, and was awarded Teacher of the Year TJX Company 2015.
